Monday 9th - Glasgow
Off to Glasgow for work from Monday afternoon to Thursday - Meeting all day Tuesday then out on the test train for work Wednesday and Thursday - It should be interesting...
July 7th - Concert!
Went to concert at Clere School - To listen to Luci and Ed play in their respective Brass Band. It was a good evening which started off with a BBQ. They were both so proud of what they did - Luci especially!! Ed was as usual a lot quieter! Unfortunately I enver took any photos as it wasn't that easy to see them.
Thursday July 5th - Football Match Engineering Vs Consents/LPDO
I must have been mad - Got persuaded to go and watch the football - Lucky I had a camera which made me even more popular! As it was to be held at Paddington recreation Ground I kind of assumed it was in walking distance - Only to find out we had to get the tube! Bizarre!
Well when we left Paddington Station it was dry - By the time we got to the footie it was bucketing down with rain, my new short hair suffered. As Patrick said to me later in the pub "Did you go and get your hair permed at half time?!"
Of course we had to go to the pub after the game...only to find the local tube shut (Maida Vale) at 10.30pm - so walked back to Paddington, home about 12.50am!!! Bus from Reading to Thatcham...great!!

July 3rd - Engineering Challenge Day
A different day at work!
Went to a Private Girls School at the Barbican to help out with an Engineering Challenge day that they were holding.
22 teams of 5 girls (a couple of teams had less) 11-12 years olds creating a structure that a hockey ball could be dropped down and had to make noises/do things on the way down. Some very creative structures.
Why did I go? Because I was a female engineer and was mean to be an example to them!! Not certain about that!....but the day was fun

June 28th - Gothenburg
Long weekend away in Gothenburg, Sweden, staying with Karen.
Had a lovely weekend, wandered around the city, went out on the Friday night, on Saturday we went shopping (How many H&Ms??), in the evening went to the 23rd Floor of local hotel for dinner which was yummy.
Sunday - Gothenburg has the second largest theme park in Sweden, Liseberg. Liseberg is combines all the fun of the fair with gardens and trees - So spending a whole day thre was very, very easy, great how many rollercoasters you can go on! Queues were pretty short, towards the end we were going back on Rollercoasters ith queues of 10 mins, until I felt a bit ill!
For dinner we had a traditional Swedish meal.
The flight home was a little shock - Swedish time up 4.30am, UK 3.30am! Landed at Heathrow at 7.50am, in office for work by 9.30am - Perfect!
A bit of History on Gothenburg
Gothenburg, or G ö teborg as it's spelt locally, lies on the west coast of Sweden and is the country's second largest city with a population of 450,000. People have lived in the area for thousands of years, but after the Danish burnt it down, the King of Sweden, Gustav II Adolf, decided to rebuild the city in 1621. His statue of him pointing [He is saying, 'Build me a city here'. ] at the ground exactly where he wanted it, can be found in the centre of the city. Gothenburg is built up around the mouth of the river G ö ta Ä lv as it pours out into the sea. Previously, the harbour was key to the city's development, but Gothenburg today is known mainly for Volvo, being the city where this car first rolled off the production line. The company headquarters are still there.

27th April - Party Night
Off to the pub at 4.30pm!! We went to the Pride of Paddington. Good weather so we stood outside with our drinks. Lots of people popped along from the office which was really great :) Stayed here longer than intended - 7.15pm - We then caught a taxi to Sway in Covent Garden/Holborn.
I stuck to one drink - Cocktails!! Had lots of Sex on the Beach. Really good that Eimear, Kathy and Niki came along as well, especially with the drive from Newbury. Ava also came along and it was lovely to see her again. Big hugs Karen - Such a shame that you couldn't make it and I know how much you would have loved being there - Would have been good to repay your hospitality from last year and introduced you to my mad bunch.
Ill have to steal some photos off people from last night and then I will post them on here.
Now going to chill for a while in the garden in the sun...it could be the middle of summer.

Sunday at the Jade Cottage
Started the morning off with a Body Pump class :) not certain its going to help enough for my holiday, oh well!
Went to the Jade Cottage as the start of my Birthday celebrations / commiserations !! (if I could spell!)
Had a lovely lunch, with great company. Mum and dad got me inflatiable balloons and decorated the table with my age and little stars. The food was good as usual though it was very quiet in there - Obviously because the sun was out so everyone else was lazying around
I think that everyone enjoyed themselves.
In the afternoon Kathy, Danielle and Lewis called round with a bottle of fizzy red - Very nice. Then later wandered round to Kathy and watch a DVD, THe Guardian, actually very good, but reminded us of Top Gun! (but for life guards!!)
..and as this is Monday...only just over day before I'm....old!!

Just a Lazy weekend...
Well I avoid the usual Friday night out! Quite a few of the "regulars" on holiday and not necessarily feeling up to a night of partying - Sam C tried to persuade me to go for that 1 drink..but that 1 drink never quite stays as just the 1!! :) So caught my usual 5.06pm train home.
Today I started some exercise - Body Combat - And in about an hour popping to Nikis as we are going out for a walk , along the canal from Newbury (near Hambridge Rd junction) to Thatcham and then back. Depending on the time I might pop over to Alisons after as Ed broke his arm last weekend in 2 places, then this evening i can be even more exciting and do my Tesco shopping!
Tomorrow - Not so lazy day planned - At home - Body Pump - Then to sort out my spare room, do some ironing for the week (maybe organise ironing to go to Anns) sort out loads of other little things that just haven't been done.

Easter weekends and Sofas
Well after a shopped out Easter weekend!! Spent too much in Ikea and M&S...but at least I don't have to pay for the sofa unitl a week before delivery! This should be in 8 weeks time.
Have order a 2 seater sofa and armchair from Marks and Spencers during their sale - Still expensive but lovely and soft.
Weather has been good and is meant to be even better next weekend. I even managed to get the grass cut though it does look like it needs some TLC.
